TOURIFY VS. SEMBARK

Tourify vs Sembark: the price, the setup fee, and what happens at GST filing time.

Sembark keeps its price behind a quote form and, by its own pricing FAQ, charges a mandatory setup fee on top. Tourify prints every plan on this page, free included, no setup fee. The deeper difference: Sembark is built DMC-first, rate contracts, cab billing sheets, supplier ledgers, stop-sale dates, while Tourify is scoped to what an outbound tour operator or FIT agency does, quote fast, invoice with GST, export GSTR-1 sections at filing time, and keep travellers informed.

IN FAIRNESS

Where Sembark is stronger.

Sembark’s depth here is real, and mostly out of scope for an outbound operator or FIT agency. If your business runs on supplier rate contracts, a shared-seat calendar and blackout dates, it may fit you better than we do today.

01Room-type & meal-plan contracting

Season-wise rates down to room type and meal plan, the core of Sembark's DMC toolkit. Tourify records supplier details, not contracted rate tiers.

02Blackout & stop-sale dates

Hotel and room stop-sale plus blackout dates, shipped in Sembark's v1.173 release. Not a Tourify feature today.

03Bulk rate upload

A bulk upload flow for supplier rates. Ours is entered line by line.

04Tour calendar / movement chart

A visual movement chart across departures and transport. Tourify tracks departures as records, not on a calendar view.

05SIC (seat-in-coach) handling

Seat inventory for shared, seat-in-coach departures. Not a Tourify feature.

#01 · WHO IT’S BUILT FOR

Depth you’ll never open is not a feature.

Their depth is DMC depthSeason-wise rate contracts, per-km and per-day cab billing sheets, supplier ledgers, stop-sale and blackout dates: the machinery on Sembark’s own feature pages and release notes is built around destination management companies serving B2B agents.
Your day looks nothing like thatAn outbound operator or FIT agency sells trips, quotes fast, invoices with GST and TCS, collects payments and keeps travellers informed. That is the whole surface Tourify covers, and why nothing in it needs a consultant to configure.
To be fairSembark also markets to outbound operators, so we won’t claim it can’t serve you. Our claim is about design centre: what the product is built around, and who ends up paying, through the mandatory setup fee and consultant-led onboarding, for depth they never open.

#02 · THEIR PRICING PAGE, VERBATIM

Two lines from the same pricing page.

The bulletSembark’s pricing page advertises ‘Pay-When-Use’ Pricing as a feature bullet. Checked 3 August 2026, that is the exact wording.
The FAQ, same page“Do we have to pay even if usage is low in a particular month?” Their answer, in full: “Yes. The subscription is based on system access and availability, not usage volume.”
The seasonal maths, honestlyIf you sell Char Dham, Ladakh, treks or wedding-season travel, that subscription runs through your quiet months. Tourify’s paid plans bill monthly too, we won’t pretend otherwise. The difference: our Free plan exists and stays free, and stepping back up to a paid plan costs no setup fee.
Add-ons, on top of the quoteWhatsApp automation (Notify), telephony (Dial2Deal) and payment collection are packaged as separate add-ons on sembark.com, prices undisclosed. Ask what the whole stack costs before you sign. Our plan grid on /pricing is the whole answer.

#03 · INTEGRATIONS & API

Their integrations feed leads in. Ours run your website.

Twelve routes inEvery integration listed on sembark.com, checked 3 August 2026, WordPress and Elementor forms, Google Forms, Wix, a chatbot, their leads API, pushes enquiries into the CRM. Genuinely useful, and one-directional.
Where the public API stopsSembark keeps real developer docs and a status page, so this is not a no-API story. But as documented 3 August 2026, the public API is scoped to lead ingestion: no reading or writing bookings, quotes, invoices or payments, and no Tally, payment-gateway or channel-manager connector listed. Custom integrations are offered on request.
Ours points the other wayTourify’s public API serves your trips, departures, reviews and blog, and it already runs live operator websites. Publish a trip in the CRM and it appears on your own domain.

#04 · WEBSITE & TRAVELLER PORTAL

The two structural things we couldn’t find there.

Checked, and said carefullyChecked 3 August 2026, nothing advertised on sembark.com shows an operator website builder or a traveller-facing portal. That is the whole claim, and we re-check it before every update to this page.
A website from the same systemTourify ships an eight-template website builder on your own domain. Trips, departures, reviews and blog posts publish straight from the CRM, powered by the same public API.
Travellers who serve themselvesEach traveller gets a login: itinerary, payment status, documents, passport and visa uploads. Operators tell us status calls drop by about 80% once travellers can self-serve.

FAQ

Questions worth asking before you pick either one.

Does Tourify charge a setup fee?No. Every plan, including Free, has zero setup fee. Sembark's own pricing FAQ is direct about theirs: “Is the setup fee mandatory?” “Yes.”
Is there a free trial?Tourify has a free plan that stays free, not a countdown: 2 staff, 50 travellers, 3 trips, no card. Sembark's own comparison table marks itself “Free Trial: No.”
Does Tourify support GSTR-1 filing?Yes. Tourify exports GSTR-1-ready B2B, B2CL, B2CS, HSN and Exempt sections, built off the official GSTR-1 workbook layout. “GSTR” does not appear anywhere on sembark.com, checked 3 August 2026.
Who is each product actually built for?Sembark is DMC-first: rate contracts, cab billing sheets, supplier ledgers, stop-sale dates. Tourify is scoped to outbound tour operators and FIT agencies: quoting, GST invoicing, payments and traveller communication.
Can I migrate from Sembark to Tourify?Yes. Import your data yourself on any plan, or move to the Business plan for free migration and onboarding done for you, for a limited time. Sembark's own onboarding is consultant-led, paid through the mandatory setup fee.
Does Tourify bill per seat, like Sembark? No. Tourify's plans are flat per month; staff limits rise by tier, but nobody is billed per active user. Sembark lists itself under a “Team Size Cap” on its own comparison tables.

Every Sembark claim on this page comes from sembark.com’s public pages, checked 3 August 2026, and the lines that matter most are quoted verbatim from their own pricing page. Nothing here comes from reviews, rumours or guesswork.

Sembark is serious, mature software. If you are a DMC living in rate contracts, transport billing sheets and supplier ledgers, its depth may genuinely fit you better than we do today. But if you are an outbound tour operator or a FIT agency, ask how much of that depth you would ever open. Tourify is built only for operators like you.

If anything here is out of date or reads unfair, email me. I will correct it the same day.
