Shaadi dates 2026-27: when your wedding inventory fills

India's 2026-27 wedding calendar runs in short bursts between two long dead zones. Here's when muhurats open, when they shut, and what to book when.

Masai Mara · 06:15

Your wedding-season clients don't pick their travel dates. Their family panchang does. The Hindu wedding muhurat calendar for 2026-27 opens and shuts in narrow windows fixed months in advance, and if you're only checking dates when a family calls to book, you're already behind the venues and photographers who locked their calendars in August.

This matters for two businesses you can run off the same calendar. The venue-side wedding block, resort buyouts, decor, catering coordination, gets contracted well ahead of the date. The guest-side travel desk, flights and rooms for everyone flying in, usually gets confirmed much closer to the event, once the family has a headcount. Miss the first window and you've lost the bigger mandate.

This post lays out every wedding window from November 2026 through mid-2027, the two dead zones that stop bookings cold, and where each should sit on your sales calendar.

Why the calendar decides who wins the shaadi season

Hindu wedding dates aren't spread evenly across the year. They cluster into a handful of windows set by the panchang, the traditional calendar that tracks auspicious dates for marriage, and go dark for weeks at a stretch in between. An operator who reads the calendar in August and starts pitching before the family finalises anything gets the first conversation. An operator who waits for the enquiry is competing for whatever's left.

Here's the full run from November 2026 to July 2027, at a glance:

This table comes from DrikPanchang's computed 2026 and 2027 vivah-muhurat calendars (2026, 2027), checked August 2026. Treat it as a planning signal, not a client-facing document, more on why in the last section.

The Nov 21-Dec 12, 2026 cluster: the season's first sprint

DrikPanchang's 2026 calendar lists four muhurat dates in November, 21, 24, 25 and 26, and seven more in December: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11 and 12, before "Prohibited Solar month" runs 17-31 December (source). MyPandit's independently computed 2026 calendar lists the same eleven dates (source), useful confirmation since panchang computations can drift between sources.

Eleven dates across roughly three weeks is a short, front-loaded window. Venue and vendor decisions here are typically locked well before the date, which means you should already be in front of these families by August or September 2026. If you're reading this in August, the pitch window is now.

Kharmas: why every muhurat stops from mid-December to mid-January

No vivah muhurat appears on either the DrikPanchang or MyPandit calendar between 13 December 2026 and 14 January 2027. The next listed date is 15 January 2027. This is the period commonly called Kharmas, or Dhanurmas, when the Sun's transit is considered inauspicious for new beginnings including marriage, and it's why the season goes completely dark for exactly this stretch every year.

Neither panchang source carries an explicit "Kharmas start/end" timestamp; the dead window is read from the absence of any listed date across the gap, a reliable enough signal for planning even without one canonical announcement of the exact hour it begins and ends.

The mistake operators make with this window is treating it as dead time for the business, not just for weddings. It isn't. Families from the Nov-Dec cluster are travelling in this exact stretch, which makes it the right time to finalise guest rooming lists, chase balance payments, and pitch the honeymoon leg to the couple that just married. Families aiming for January-March are deciding their venue right now. Use the gap on the pipeline, not the diary.

The Jan 15-Mar 14, 2027 cluster

January 2027 opens the season with nine dates: 15, 18, 19, 20, 24, 26, 27, 30 and 31. February is the densest of the three, with thirteen: 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 21, 22, 25, 26, 27 and 28. March runs seven, 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 14, before 15-31 March is marked another "Prohibited Solar month" (source).

Twenty-nine dates across nine weeks is a busy stretch, and February's thirteen beats any month before the April-July run proper. It's also the window where guest-travel mandates for the Nov-Dec 2026 cluster should be closing out. Still chasing headcounts for a December wedding here is a process problem worth fixing before the bigger months arrive.

April to mid-July 2027: the main season and where the real peak sits

This is the block to build your staffing and inventory around. April opens on the 18th, after a solar-month block runs 1-14 April, and carries nine dates through the 28th. May is the heaviest muhurat month in the entire cycle, with eighteen listed dates, and June follows close behind with sixteen. July tapers hard to just six dates (1, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12) before 17-31 July is blocked by Shukra Tara Asta, Venus considered combust, the point the season shuts for the monsoon gap (source).

Put together, May and June alone carry 34 of the roughly 90 muhurat dates across the whole cycle. If you're deciding where to put your best staff, your negotiated vendor rates and your peak-load contingency, this is the block. Season effectively closes on 12 July.

Careful: density on the calendar doesn't mean the venue is available. Popular resort and banquet dates inside May-June get contracted a year or more out by the bigger players. Reading this calendar early is what buys you a seat at that table.

Chaturmas: the monsoon gap, and what to sell into it

After 12 July, the season goes dark again for roughly four months. DrikPanchang's 2026 calendar shows the same pattern one cycle earlier: zero muhurat dates across August, September and October 2026, and 1-20 November 2026 marked "Prohibited Chaturmas," before the season reopens on 21 November (source). This is Chaturmas, the four-month monsoon period traditionally set aside from new undertakings, recurring every year in roughly the same July-to-November shape.

For an operator, this gap is a different sale, not dead time. Couples married in the April-June peak are 60-90 days out, the honeymoon-handoff window: the trip they book for themselves, no venue committee, no guest list. It's also the season to push travel product unrelated to weddings, since your wedding pipeline genuinely goes quiet. Read the agent's guide to honeymoon packages before this gap arrives, not during it.

Venue block vs guest travel desk: two products, two lead times

These are two different sales with two different clocks, and treating them as one pitch is where most agencies underperform this season.

The venue-side block, resort or banquet buyout, decor, catering, event coordination, is typically the bigger single commitment for the family, and it's the one locked farthest ahead of the date. Families deciding on a May 2027 wedding are, in practice, making venue calls well before the Jan-March cluster even opens.

The guest-side travel desk, flights and rooms for the guest list, is a smaller per-decision-maker relationship but a far larger volume one: dozens to hundreds of travellers, each needing a room, a transfer, sometimes a flight. This mandate is typically won closer to the date, once headcounts firm up, and needs no existing venue relationship, the more accessible entry point for an agency outside the wedding-planner network.

Chase the venue-side conversation as far ahead as your calendar reading allows, but land the guest-desk pitch after a family has locked their date and venue, not before. For a fuller build-out, see the wedding-travel desk playbook.

The payment structure that survives 200 guests and one paying family

A wedding travel mandate has an unusual shape: one decision-maker controlling the money, dozens or hundreds of guests generating the logistics load. Rooming changes, flight name corrections and last-minute plus-ones all come from guests who aren't the ones paying you, exactly the load that breaks a payment schedule built for a normal FIT booking.

Stage the payment against your own supplier deadlines, not the wedding date: a block-hold advance before rates move, a second tranche once the guest list and rooming plan are locked, and the balance ahead of your room-release and ticketing cutoffs. Same staged logic as how much advance to collect and when. Peak-season surcharges bite harder in a dense month like May or June 2027; check the surcharge map for 2027 before quoting into that window.

Confirm locally before this calendar drives a client commitment

Every date in this post comes from a standard North Indian Vedic panchang computation. Bengali, Tamil, Jain and other regional or community calendars can shift, add or drop specific dates, sometimes by weeks. A family following a different tradition may not recognise this calendar at all.

Use this post to plan your own sales calendar, staffing, and when to pitch each window. Do not hand a client a date off this list and call it their muhurat. Before a venue is booked or a guest itinerary is issued, the family's own priest or community panchang has to confirm it.

Common questions

vivah muhurat 2027 dates list

The 2027 calendar runs January 15 through July 12 across four clusters: nine dates in January, thirteen in February, seven in March, then a run from 18 April through 12 July peaking at eighteen dates in May and sixteen in June. Full breakdown in the table above.

shaadi ke shubh muhurat 2027

2027 ke shubh vivah muhurat January se July tak chaar clusters mein aate hain, jinka peak May-June mein hota hai. Exact dates har region ke panchang ke hisaab se badal sakte hain, isliye family ke apne pandit se confirm karwana zaroori hai.

kharmas 2026 start and end date

Neither DrikPanchang nor MyPandit publishes an explicit start/end timestamp for Kharmas, but their calendars show no listed wedding date between 13 December 2026 and 14 January 2027. Treat that gap as the operational window, and confirm the precise regional timing with a family's own panchang.

chaturmas 2026 dates

DrikPanchang's 2026 calendar marks 1-20 November as "Prohibited Chaturmas," with the season reopening on 21 November, and shows zero muhurat dates across August, September and October. The effective gap that year runs roughly mid-July through 20 November, the same shape repeating after 12 July 2027.

The short version

  • The 2026-27 wedding calendar runs four clusters: Nov 21-Dec 12, 2026 (11 dates); Jan 15-Mar 14, 2027 (29 dates, Feb densest at 13); Apr 18-Jul 12, 2027 (the main season, peaking at 18 dates in May and 16 in June); each separated by a hard dead zone.
  • Kharmas blocks every muhurat from 13 December 2026 to 14 January 2027. Chaturmas blocks the season again from roughly mid-July to around 21 November 2027.
  • Venue-side wedding blocks get contracted the farthest ahead. Guest-side travel desks are usually won much closer to the date and need no venue relationship, making them the easier product for a small agency to start with.
  • May-June 2027 alone carries over a third of the year's muhurat dates. Put your best staff, negotiated vendor rates and inventory holds against that window specifically.
  • The dead zones aren't downtime. Use Kharmas for pipeline and rooming-list work on the November cluster, and use Chaturmas to sell honeymoon and non-wedding travel product.
  • Stage guest-desk payments to your own supplier deadlines, not the wedding date, since one decision-maker pays while dozens or hundreds of guests generate the logistics load.
  • These dates follow a standard North Indian Vedic panchang. Confirm locally with the family's own priest or community calendar before a venue is booked or a guest itinerary goes out.
