TCS applies: an overseas trip sold as a package.

Enter a payment to see the TCS on it and the total the traveller pays.

How it works

  1. Say whether the trip goes outside India and tick what you are selling together.
  2. Pick the GST you charge and whether the traveller has given a PAN.
  3. Enter each payment with its date, as a price before GST, an amount incl. GST or an all-in figure.
  4. Copy the TCS line into your quote, or send the traveller the explanation on WhatsApp.

How TCS on an overseas package is worked out

Add GST to the package price, then take TCS on that total: a ₹1,00,000 package at 5% GST is ₹1,05,000, TCS at 2% of that is ₹2,100, and the traveller pays ₹1,07,100. Each advance and instalment gets its own TCS, rounded to the paisa, the same way Tourify records it.

This tool does not check a PAN or file anything. For the GST on a package use the tour package GST calculator, and for a receipt on each advance the advance receipt voucher.

Questions operators ask

What is the TCS rate on overseas tour packages in 2026-27?

2% of every payment received for an overseas tour package from 1 April 2026, with no minimum amount. It is collected on advances and instalments as they come in, not only on the final payment.

Is TCS worked out on the amount including GST?

This tool uses the amount including GST: the package price, plus GST, then TCS on that total. GST is not charged on TCS.

What if the traveller does not give a PAN?

TCS is 5% instead of 2%. Ask for the PAN before the first payment so the lower rate applies from the start.

Does TCS apply to a flight-only or hotel-only booking?

A standalone international ticket or hotel booking is usually not a package, so no TCS. TCS applies when the trip goes outside India and you sell two or more of travel, stay and other trip services together.

Is TCS collected when the buyer has deducted TDS?

No TCS is collected on a payment the buyer has already deducted TDS on. If the buyer is a government body, PSU, local authority, embassy or a non-resident, check with your CA before skipping TCS.

Does the traveller get the TCS back?

TCS is income tax paid in advance in the traveller's name, against their PAN. They can set it off against their income tax or get it refunded when they file their return.

What were the TCS rates before April 2026?

Old rates before April 2026: 5% up to ₹10 lakh, 20% above. This tool covers payments from 1 April 2026.

General guidance based on GST rates notified from 22 Sep 2025 and income-tax rules for FY 2026-27, last reviewed 17 Oct 2026. Not tax advice; confirm with your CA.
