How the schedule is worked out
GST and TCS are worked out once on the whole package, then shared across the payments in proportion to each amount, with any leftover paisa on the last one. Due dates count back calendar days from departure, with no shift for weekends or holidays.
For how much to ask for upfront, read How much advance to take; for reminder wording, 21 WhatsApp follow-ups that don't sound desperate. The TCS calculator checks a single payment, and the UPI QR generator makes a code for any amount.
Questions operators ask
How should I set a balance due date for a tour?
As days before departure, such as 45 or 21 days, and let the planner turn it into a date. The same schedule then works when you reuse it for another departure.
Is a 25% advance worked out before or after GST?
After. Each percent or fixed amount is a share of what the customer pays in total, including GST and TCS, so a 25% advance already carries its share of both.
How is TCS handled on instalments?
TCS is collected on each payment as it comes in: 2% of that payment including GST for an overseas package, or 5% without PAN. Each row shows its share of the TCS on the whole package, so a receipt for that payment can differ by a few paise. GST is not charged on TCS.
Why does the balance differ by a few paise?
Each instalment is rounded to the paisa and the balance takes the remainder, so the payments add up exactly to the total, and their GST and TCS add up exactly to the GST and TCS on the whole package.
Can I share the schedule with the client?
Yes. Copy the WhatsApp message, save a PDF, or download a calendar file with every due date. There is a reminder message for each payment too, ready to copy when the date comes round.
